What’s your name and job title?
Debbie Eagles, salon owner and senior stylist.
How many years do you have in the industry?
Thirty-two years and an extra couple as a Saturday girl before leaving school. My qualifications include City & Guilds Advanced Hairdressing, City & Guilds NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Assessor Awards, City & Guilds Trainer’s Certificate, and Academy Courses in all aspects of hairdressing.
Why did you take up hairdressing?
Coming from a family of hairdressers (mum & three aunts) it was just a natural step.
What keeps you motivated?
Fear of failure! My partner Geoff is my greatest motivator.
Which famous person’s hairstyle would you like to change?
Boris Johnson!
What do you enjoy about your work?
I love making people feel and look good, and as well as having the most wonderful clientele, I am lucky enough to work with a most fabulous team who make being at work a pleasure.
Where do you go on holiday? How do you enjoy yourself?
I love the sunshine but am also partial to skiing. I enjoy running with my partner, especially along the coast. We enjoy the theatre, shows, and eating out.
Favourite celeb/music/TV show/film/hobbies?
Jane Tomlinson, 60′s (love the Beatles) and classical music, Holby City, Casualty, X Factor, Strictly, Dancing on Ice, “Being There” and “Sommersby” (Richard Gere and Jodie Foster). Hobbies include exercise, reading, cooking and gardening. Films – any chick flick or thrillers.
